Postdoc scientist engineer in AstroCeNT

 

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the particle astrophysics group at Astrocent, a new international Center of Excellence in Particle Astrophysics in Warsaw, Poland (see below for more information).
 
Successful applicants will be expected to engage in experimental research in in gravitational waves, development of seismic and environmental sensors, as well as in related topics of astronomy and particle physics. We are seeking for applicants that received their PhD in engineering, geology, geophysics, physics or astronomy within the last 5 years. In particular we look for applicants with experience in data acquisition, data analysis or experimental setup. The successful applicant will work in the seismic sensor group led by prof. Bulik. The group is a part of the Virgo collaboration and takes part in the preparation activities for the Einstein Telescope.
 
Gross monthly salary will be 15,000 PLN (currently about 3,300 Euro, US $3,800) that includes social and health insurance contributions. Take-home, tax-deducted salary will be close to 8,750 PLN (currently nearly 2,000 Euro, US $2,200).
