Competition for research scholarship in high-energy astrophysics

Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center (CAMK PAN) of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw announces competition for a 4-year research scholarship to participate in the MAESTRO project „Inflows and outflows around black holes and neutron stars” (2015/18/A/ST9/00746) financed by the Polish National Science Centre and led by prof. Andrzej Zdziarski. More information on the project can be found at http://users.camk.edu.pl/aaz/inflow_outflow.html. The suggested starting date is the 1st of October 2017.

The scholarship is intended for prospective Ph.D. students at CAMK PAN. Candidates should hold (or expect to obtain before the start of their scholarship) a university degree (master or equivalent) in the field of astrophysics, astronomy or physics. Knowledge of astrophysical radiative processes, radio astronomy and high-energy astrophysics will be preferred.

Candidates should submit an application including a CV, a copy of the most important diploma (master, engineer, bachelor) including the list of course grades, as well as information on research experience (participation in research projects, publications, awards, etc). They can also include one recommendation letter from a research advisor.

Applications should be sent in the PDF format at the aaz@camk.edu.pl until the 28th of May 2017. Any questions about the competition can also be sent there. This competition is independent from the recruitment for Ph.D. studies at CAMK PAN (https://www.camk.edu.pl/en/phd/).
