The Copernicus Astronomical Center is announcing an opening for a two-year half-time postdoctoral position.
We are looking for a candidate specializing in hydrodynamic simulations. The candidate must have a documented experience in programming and in running numerical codes. Familiarity with the PIERNIK code is required, as well as experience in code parallelization. A “hands on” knowledge of hardware will be advantageous.
The successful candidate will contribute to research carried out under the direction of Professor Wlodek Kluźniak, which is financed by a MAESTRO grant of the Polish National Science Center. Duties will include collaboration in developing codes describing accretion processes.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in astronomy or physics. It is expected that the starting date of the appointment will be no later than July 1, 2015.
The application should include a CV, list of publications, a letter of reference from a senior scientist and a brief (no more than 4 pages in length) summary of accomplishments.
All documents should be submitted by April 1, 2015.
The winning candidate will be selected by the end of April 2015.
Applications, including letter of reference may be submitted electronically, preferably in PDF format, at recruitment@camk.edu.pl, or by post at
