The Copernicus Astronomical Center is announcing an opening for a two-year research position with Professor Włodek Kluźniak for work on simulating accretion flows and jets. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in astrophysics or physics, and must have completed at least three years of work at the post-doctoral (or higher) level.
The position is financed by a generous grant of the Polish National Science Center,
and may be extended for the third year, contingent upon continuing funding. Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and is expected to correspond to faculty level salaries in the Polish academia.
The successful candidate will have experience of coding and in running MHD simulations of accretion flows in ZEUS, PLUTO, NIRVANA, or equivalent, in 3-D. A proven track record of research on accretion outflows in resistive MHD will be a definite advantage.
The application deadline is April 15, 2015.
The expected employment starting date is October 1, 2015.
Applications, including letters of reference may be submitted electronically, preferably in PDF format, at recruitment@camk.edu.pl, or by post at
Sekretariat CAMK PAN

The application should include a CV, and a brief (no more than 4 pages) statement of purpose cum description of research interests and experience. Two (or more) confidential letters of reference should be solicited from senior scientists familiar with the candidate's work.
Interested candidates are encouraged to seek additional information by e-mail, directly from Professor Kluźniak (wlodek@camk.edu.pl).
