Simulation of M22

April 1st information on discovery of a new globular cluster in the Milky Way was an "April Fools' Day" hoax.

Real information below:

Group of astronomers from Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center in collaboration with Douglas Heggie from Edinburgh University has made a simulation of M22 globular cluster. Based on this simulation a synthetic image of this cluster has been created. Parameters of this image are close to those in the frames from a 1-mater class telescope.

The model contains more than 750 thousand stars with a total mass about 300 thousand solar mass. Photometry done on the simulated image allowed detection of only about 10 percent of the stars.
