During the 3rd NCAC Symposium "Accretion flow instabilities: 30 years of the thermal-viscous disc instability model" Professor Józef Smak has received the NCAC Medal for his outstanding contribution to astrophysics and for the creation of the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center".
