Accessibility Statement


Nicholaus Copernicus Astronomical Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences undertakes to ensure the availability of its website in accordance with the Act of April 4, 2019 on digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public entities. This accessibility statement applies to the main website of the Astronomical Center.

The website is partially compliant with the Digital Accessibility Act of Public Entity's Websites and Mobile Applications due to incompatibilities or exclusions listed below.

On the website in the public procurement subpage, in the notices of some tenders completed before September 23, 2020, files without a text layer are placed. Before September 23, 2019, files without a text layer were placed in the intranet part of the website, available after logging in. The above inconsistencies are gradually removed by sharing files with the text layer.

This declaration was drawn up on 2020-09-22. The declaration was made on the basis of a self-assessment carried out by the Astronomical Center.

Everyone has the right to request that the digital accessibility of the website, mobile application or any of their elements be ensured. If digital accessibility is not possible, the public entity may propose an alternative way of accessing the information. In the event that the public entity refuses to fulfill the request to provide accessibility or an alternative method of access to information, the person submitting the request may submit a complaint regarding the provision of digital accessibility of a website, mobile application or website element or mobile application.

After exhausting the above-mentioned procedure, you can also submit an application to the Polish Ombudsman.

There are 2 entrances to the building from the terrace at ul. Bartycka. The main entrance is the entrance facing ul. Bartycka. Stairs and a driveway lead to the terrace. The reception desk is located on the left side of the main entrance. For people in wheelchairs, only the corridor and rooms on the ground floor outside the hotel part located in the left wing are available. There is no elevator in the building.

There are no Braille markings in the building, no contrast or enlarged markings for the blind and partially sighted.
