Saikruba Krishnan is a Ph.D. candidate at the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center (CAMK) in Warsaw

The supervisor of her doctoral work is Prof. Alex Markowitz.

The main topic of her research work is time-domain and spectroscopic studies of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN).

Her thesis will consist of two projects: (1) "Detection of periodic signals in AGN red noise light curves: empirical tests on the Auto-Correlation Function and Phase Dispersion Minimization" (DOI: 10.1093/mnras/stab2839); and (2) multi-wavelength study of extragalactic transients detected with eROSITA: A flaring event in an AGN (ongoing in a collaboration with the German eROSITA collaboration). Both projects were funded by the National Science Center (NCN), the former within the framework of OPUS grant (2016/23/B/ST9/03123), "Tools for Period Searching in AGNs in the Era of "Big Data"", and the latter as a part of BEETHOVEN grant (2018/31/G/ST9/03224), "eROSITA's Window into the X-ray-Transient Sky: AGN Accretion in the Era of Big Data", both led by Prof. Alex Markowitz.
