About me:

Ruchi Mishra is a Ph.D. candidate at the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center (NCAC) in Warsaw.

Professor Włodzimierz Kluźniak supervises of her doctoral research.

In her doctoral work, she concentrates on understanding disk and atmosphere around stars by using advanced computational codes:

  • Pluto Newtonian code .
  • KORAL - GRMHD (General Relativistic Radiation Hydrodynamics) code.

Her main scientific interests covering the following fields:
  • computational astrophysics with particular reference to accretion disk and atmosphere around stars,
  • the flow dynamics in a thin accretion disk,
  • backflow in the disk, where the flow of matter is away from the central accretor in the disk mid-plane.

Currently, she is also involved in the National Science Center OPUS project (no. 019/33/B/ST9/01564), entitled "From transitional pulsars to ULXs, radiation, jets, and winds in neutron stars" leads by prof. Włodzimierz Kluźniak.
