Maria Luiza Linhares Dantas is a post-doctoral researcher at the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center (CAMK) in Warsaw. She is a member of the SAGA team led by Prof. Rodolfo Smiljanic.

She completed her doctoral studies at the University of Sao Paulo in 2020 and did a secondment at the Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain, between 2018 and 2019. Her doctoral thesis was about the different characteristics of UV upturn and UV-weak early-type galaxies and their inhabiting stellar populations.

Her investigation with the SAGA team involves the development of a pipeline for treating stellar spectra to retrieve fundamental stellar parameters. Within this framework, she has been working with radial migration from super-metal-rich stars from the inner Galaxy to the solar vicinity, using data from the Gaia-ESO Survey.

She is part of the following international collaborations: J-PAS (and its ancillary surveys, J-PLUS and S-PLUS) and Gaia-ESO. She is also a member of the International Astrostatistics Association (IAA) and its most active working group, the Cosmostatistics Initiative (COIN). Recently she joined the Wide-field Spectroscopic Telescope collaboration. Her main lines of investigation include Galactic and Extragalactic astrophysics, especially resolved and unresolved stellar populations, and astrostatistics. She is also interested in the Science of Science.

The list and links to her publications can be found in the NASA ADS service, while her scientific profile is also given on the Google Scholar platform.
