Workshop on

SALT among the constellations
of very large telescopes

Kazimierz Dolny, Poland
7-9 June, 2017

Welcome!

We are pleased to announce the workshop on “SALT among the constellations of very large telescopes”. The idea is to cover the main fields of interest of Polish and SALT astronomical communities, and the most (also potentially) promising fields for SALT science. We hope that this meeting, in addition to the critical assessment of existing knowledge in these fields, will help to identify directions for future research, and to promote close working relationships between scientists from different countries and with different professional experience.

In particular, the topics we would like to discuss are:
- resolved stellar populations in MW, MCs, LGG (pulsating stars, binaries, PNe, other emission line objects)
- dynamics and physics of resolved ejecta (Novae, PNe, SNR, etc.)
- distance scale (pulsating stars, binaries, etc.)
- transients
- SNe up to ~100 Mpc including late phase evolution
- time resolved observervations (short timescales)
- spectropolarimetry
- exoplanets

The program is still open and will be established by the SOC after receiving titles and short abstracts from the participants.
