Manish Kumar Gupta joined the Scientific Computing & Information Technology Group, in AstroCeNT, a unit of the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center (CAMK) in Warsaw in 2020 and he works on Quantum Machine Learning with Prof. Piotr Gawron.

He obtained his Ph.D. in 2016 from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, USA. His doctoral advisor was Dr. Jonathan P. Dowling. During his Ph.D., he worked on Quantum Communication, Quantum Information, and Quantum Metrology. After graduating he did his postdoc at Harish-Chandra Research Institute (HRI), a premier institution dedicated to research in Mathematics and Theoretical Physics in India.

Dr. Gupta collaborates with ESA's Φ-lab on developing quantum machine learning algorithms for analyzing earth observation data and he also collaborates on the DEAP-3600 project with Dr. Marcin Kuźniak to develop a parallel Monte Carlo simulation to run on compute Canada cluster. He also developed Distributed Quadratic Unconstrained Binary Optimisation (QUBO) Solver for Intel Corporations using oneAPI and MPI which is available on GitHub.
